Unidentified drones have been spotted over a military airport in Bavaria

Up to 10 drones launched by unknown persons were spotted over the military airfield in the Bavarian village of Manching, investigators do not rule out espionage. The regional criminal department announced this on its website.

The police were informed about the flights of drones over the airport on the evening of January 12. The law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene saw up to 10 drones. The identity of those who fired them could not be ascertained, although a police helicopter was involved. The General Prosecutor's Office of Munich has started an investigation.

In December 2024, drones were already spotted over military facilities in Munching and neighboring Neuburg an der Donau.
