A phone conversation between US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could take place "in the coming days or weeks," Trump's incoming national security adviser Mike Waltz said.

"We have not yet decided the exact structure (for the future meeting - ed.), but we are working on it. I expect that at least a phone call will take place in the coming days or weeks. This will be the first step, after which we will continue with further steps," he said. Waltz on the ABC channel.

He also added that one of the important issues in the context of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine will be the stabilization of the situation on the battlefield.
