It turns out that the newspaper's information about Musk making registration on X social network paid was false. This was admitted by one of the users of X who acted as a source and deliberately deceived the journalist Kaylee Hayes.
According to him, he contacted the reporter through an insider email address he found on the publication's website, in which he discussed moving X's office and employees from San Francisco to Texas, who disagreed with the move.
The fake insider claimed to be a front-end developer at X and said he was fired for refusing to support making posting dates and times pay.
He also added that the social network plans to charge $8 for new user registrations. When the reporter asked him to provide supporting documents, he replied that he did not know how to do that. The next day, he found out that the reporter had published an article about him reported with false information.
The user explained that his goal was to show how gullible the media is and how easy it is to fool them. Soon after, Elon Musk commented on the post, saying: "Here is your traditional media."
