Maduro became president of Venezuela for the third time

The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, assumed the position of head of state for the third time. This is reported by Heraldo newspaperLenta.

"Maduro is at the legislative headquarters in Caracas, accompanied by the country's first lady, Kilia Flores, Executive Vice President Delsy Rodriguez and Speaker of the Parliament Jorge Rodriguez," the publication notes.

Maduro became president after the elections held on July 28 last year. Ten candidates were registered for the election, including President Nicolas Maduro, who has been in power since 2013, and the main opposition candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia. Maduro eventually won with 51.2 percent of the vote. Moreover, the opponents of the president recognized Gonzalez as the winner.
