A firefighting plane collided with a drone in California

A plane involved in firefighting operations in California collided with a civilian drone and made an emergency landing, reports CBS News, referring to the press secretary of the California Fire Service, Christopher Thomas.

The latter explained that after the collision, the Canadair CL-415 plane landed successfully, the crew was not injured, but the left wing of the plane was damaged due to the collision with the drone.

The US Civil Aviation Service is investigating the incident. Aviation and drone flights are prohibited in Los Angeles, unless they are for firefighting, so the incident is being viewed as an obstacle to neutralizing the fire. The person who launched the drone faces up to one year in prison and a fine of $75,000.
