Biden has announced that he will not pardon his son Hunter

"I accept the verdict of the jury. I will do it and I am not going to pardon him," Biden said at a joint press conference following the results of the bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. These negotiations took place in the southern Apulia region of Italy within the framework of the Group of Seven summit. The US president added that he is proud of his son. “I am very proud of my son Hunter. He overcame his addiction and is one of the most intelligent and decent people I know," he added. Biden also said that he will not seek to reduce his son's sentence. After the meeting, he was asked about such an intention, to which the president replied. "No." On June 11, the jury returned a guilty verdict against Biden Jr. in the weapons violation case. He was found guilty on all three counts presented by the US Department of Justice. The two offenses are related to him lying in a 2018 written statement that he did not use drugs when purchasing a Colt Cobra handgun. The third involves violating the law that prohibits drug addicts from owning firearms. Hunter Biden may face up to 25 years in prison.
