The Lebanese government is determined to put an end to Israel's aggression, which leads to the destruction of entire cities, and to achieve the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the country. This was announced by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, speaking at a press conference held in the Serai Palace.
"What we have seen is more than just expansion, border crossing and invasion," the politician said. "Israel has not only violated our sovereignty, but also conducts a policy of complete destruction."
However, Salam confirmed that despite the actions of the Israeli army, he does not intend to abandon the bilateral negotiations, the fourth round of which will take place on June 2-3 in Washington.
"Yes, the success of the negotiations is still not guaranteed, but they are not capitulation," he noted. "The most important thing is that the decision about war and peace is now in the hands of the Lebanese state." According to the Prime Minister, the territory of Lebanon will no longer serve as an arena of conflicts between regional powers.
