Two bridges across the Gumista River leading to the capital of Abkhazia, the city of Sukhum, will remain blocked by the opposition until the authorities satisfy the demand for the release of detained activists; ambulances have been organized to cross the bridges. This was stated byTASSone of the opposition leaders Adgur Ardzinba.
“At the moment, the two main bridges across the Gumista River, which lead to the capital of Abkhazia - Sukhum, are blocked. But we allow ambulances, those in special need, the sick, and so on, and for everyone else, traffic is stopped. The demand is to release illegally detained opposition representatives. They were detained only because they expressed their point of view, and we have a democratic state,” Ardzinba said, commenting on the opposition’s further plans.
