Accusing Nikol Pashinyan of falsifying the parliamentary elections, "Strong Armenia" leader Samvel Karapetyan announces the process of consolidating the opposition forces and "generating the street struggle at the right time".
"Since we made that mistake before the elections, many opposition forces, which may have fought honestly, but overestimated their strength, we could not come to an agreement with many opposition forces." According to Karapetyan, consolidation is now very important for the country and the people. "I suggest that we create a coordinating council, communicate live, reveal all the problems to our people, address our people with proper discussions and understand what is right, let's take those steps."
He opened some parentheses regarding the agenda of the Council. "The first issue is the removal of Pashinyan. The opposition force, for which our country is dear, will respond, and we will definitely create a post-election opposition coalition."
The "Armenia" alliance led by the second president Robert Kocharyan welcomes the offer of cooperation from "Strong Armenia". Ishkhan Saghatelyan, representative of Dashnaktsutyun General Assembly, is convinced that the new format of cooperation will enable the opposition forces to cooperate on a number of agenda issues in the post-election period. According to Saghatelyan, what format will be chosen, whether it will be an opposition coalition or a committee, will become clear during the discussions. Preliminary discussions have not yet given the answer to those questions.
The important thing, according to the GM representative, is that the new format of cooperation will enable the opposition forces to cooperate on a number of agenda issues in the post-election period. "The main agenda is the concessions that the government is going to make, Hajiyev's visit is due to this, they are going to change the constitution at the request of Azerbaijan, to hand over the so-called enclaves," says Saghatelyan. The member of the "Armenia" alliance also adds:
"We will apply to the Constitutional Court (the conversation took place before applying to the Supreme Court), quite reasonable packages will be presented, with concrete examples and facts regarding the rigging of elections, and when the Supreme Court starts discussing these claims, 5-6 forces have announced to apply. We are also discussing the possibilities of holding protests and making our voice heard." Ishkhan Saghatelyan answered the question: do they expect that the CC will recognize the election results as invalid and call new elections? "Of course, we understand well that the CC is a court formed by the CP, but at least we give that chance to the court so that it can prove that it serves Armenia and the Constitution, and not specifically Nikol Pashinyan.
Let him choose which way he goes, according to that, we will make our further decisions." The proposal of the leader of "Strong Armenia" has not yet been discussed in "Lusavore Armenia", which has not passed the temporary threshold of the elections. "We did not discuss, therefore, I will refrain from expressing my opinion separately. when the council discusses it, we will state our position," party leader Edmon Marukyan told us. And the chairman of the "Armenian Unity" party, the former head of the DFAAP, Mihran Poghosyan hastened yesterday to announce that he joins the call of the leader of "Strong Armenia" Samvel Karapetyan to unite all opposition forces.
"The Armenian Unity Party, emphasizing national unity and the joint struggle for Armenia and Armenianness, joins the call of Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the "Strong Armenia" alliance, to unite all opposition forces. We welcome and support the process of forming a post-election opposition coalition, being convinced that only with united efforts is it possible to overcome the challenges facing the country and ensure Armenia's dignified future," the party's message reads. Karapetyan's proposal was also welcomed by the Democratic Party of Armenia and the "Together" movement.
On June 14, when the CEC announced the final results of the elections, according to which the PAP did not enter the parliament, 6 opposition forces: the "Strong Armenia" alliance of parties, the "Armenia" alliance of parties, "Prosperous Armenia", "Lusavore Armenia", the Armenian National Congress, the National Democratic Pole, issued a statement stating that they do not recognize the election results. Surprisingly, "Wings of Unity" led by Arman Tatoyan did not join the announcement.
