Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that a delegation from the IAEA and independent experts from 11 countries, including Russia, will visit Japan to investigate the release of radioactive water into the ocean from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
"On May 11-15, a working group of IAEA officials and international experts will visit Japan to conduct an inspection of the release of ALPS-treated water from TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the sea. This inspection will focus on activities related to the discharge of ALPS-treated water,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The group of experts from 11 countries includes representatives of Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, Korea, Marshall Islands, Russia, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.
