The United Nations has reported that more than 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the cease-fire

More than 100 children have been killed and hundreds more injured in the Gaza Strip since a ceasefire was signed on October 9, 2025, UNICEF spokesman James Elder said.

"More than 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the establishment of a ceasefire in early October," he said during a briefing in Geneva. "That means that approximately one boy or girl was killed here every day during the ceasefire."

Elder noted that this number "reflects only those incidents for which sufficient detailed information is available." He added that the real number of children's deaths is higher: hundreds of children were injured.

"Life in Gaza remains difficult and survival is in question. Although the bombings and shelling have decreased during the ceasefire, they have not stopped," Elder concluded.

On October 9, 2025, Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey, agreed to implement the first phase of the peace plan presented by Trump.
