The US Department of Justice has begun publishing materials in the Jeffrey Epstein case

The US Department of Justice has begun publishing tens of thousands of documents in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, in which he was accused of trafficking people for sexual exploitation, the materials are being released as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was approved by the US Congress and signed by President Donald Trump about a month ago. The first set of archival documents was posted on the website of the Ministry of Justice on December 19.

Tens of thousands of files related to the case are planned to be published in the coming weeks. The ministry reports that a significant part of the published documents, both texts and photos, have been edited. It is noted that all reasonable measures have been taken to protect personal data relating to victims, but due to the large volume of data, it is possible that some materials may inadvertently contain sensitive information.

According to the American media, the published documents do not contain significant new information about Epstein's connections with influential businessmen or politicians. It is said that President Donald Trump is rarely mentioned in the documents, while the archive contains many photos of former US President Bill Clinton. The photos include singer Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger, Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, among others.

Jeffrey Epstein was accused of sexually exploiting underage girls and providing them with influencers.

She was convicted for the first time in 2008 on charges of organizing prostitution, serving 13 months in prison as a result of a deal with the prosecutor's office. In July 2019, Epstein was again arrested on charges of human trafficking, but in August of the same year, he committed suicide in a New York prison cell.
