Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange strikes, resulting in new casualties and injuries on both sides.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that on the night of August 25, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 148 air targets in seven regions of the country, as well as in Crimea, the Azov and Black Seas.
The agency did not specify how many missiles or drones were fired in total at Russia.
The governor of the Russian Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, reported a drone attack on the village of Afipsky. Fragments of the drone fell on the Afipskaya railway station, killing two people and injuring two others. At least 10 private houses in the village were damaged, one of which caught fire.
According to the governor, a fire also broke out at an oil refinery. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed that the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai was targeted.
In addition, a Ukrainian drone attack damaged the Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery in Rostov Oblast, leading to a temporary shutdown of the plant.
Ukrainian authorities also reported that on the night of August 25, Russian troops simultaneously launched attacks on four Ukrainian cities: Kiev, Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, and Dnipro.
According to the BBC Russian service, the Ukrainian border guard service reported that Russian forces used Shahed drones to strike the Vinogradovka international automobile checkpoint in Odessa region, which is located on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. The border checkpoint has ceased operations. On August 21, the Tabak checkpoint on the Moldovan border was targeted in Odessa.
Zaporozhye authorities reported that two people were killed in the airstrike.
The city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region was hit by massive airstrikes, injuring 11 people, including a two-month-old baby. High-rise buildings and infrastructure were hit.
A 16-story residential building in Kyiv was damaged by a drone strike. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported one injured person.
