A toilet camera that tracks users' health has been launched in the US

American plumbing solutions company Kohler has introduced Dekoda, an intelligent system with optical sensors designed to be installed directly on the toilet. The system automatically analyzes the contents of the toilet, providing the user with data on bowel health and dehydration levels.

Dekoda's optical sensors are tilted to ensure privacy while collecting information. The system records stool frequency, shape and density and transmits the results to a mobile app. If warning signs, such as traces of blood, are detected, the app can notify the user of possible health problems.

Kohler notes that the device only works properly with light-colored toilets, as the sensors require sufficient lighting for accurate analysis.

The system also has a built-in user recognition function. Authentication is done via a fingerprint scanner integrated into the wall-mounted remote control.

The Kohler Health mobile app is now available on the App Store. The Kohler Dekoda costs $599 (roughly Rs. 48,700). The system requires a subscription of $7 per month per user or $13 per month for a family of up to five.
