The "Human Rights Defender" award will be awarded to Ruben Vardanyan

The Armenian Committee of America will award Ruben Vardanyan, former Minister of State of Artsakh, businessman, who is illegally detained in Baku, with the "Human Rights Ahoyan" award.

"The Armenian Dat Committee of Western America informs that during its annual event to be held on October 20, Ruben Vardanian, the former state minister of the Republic of Artsakh and philanthropist, who is now imprisoned in Baku, will be honored with its prestigious "Humanitarian Iravants Akhoian" award.

Along with Vardanian, who is honored for his activities to strengthen the democratic order in Armenia and protect the rights of the people of Artsakh, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, Davit Babayan, who was awarded the "Freedom" award of the Armenian Committee of Western America, is among the remaining leaders of Artsakh illegally imprisoned.

Vardanian, who has implemented social and economic prosperity programs especially for the territory of Armenia and Artsakh, is also the founder of the "Orora" international award, which honors defenders of human rights around the world, as a response to the Armenian Genocide and to the institutions and individuals who have reached out to help Armenians since then.

On this occasion, Vardanian thanked the Armenian Committee of Western America in a letter."
