The head of the European Union's foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, said on October 19, before a meeting of G7 defense ministers in Naples, Italy, that they also plan to raise the issue of allowing Kyiv to launch strikes with Western weapons deep into Russian territory.
“There is no agreement on this issue within the EU, some countries support it, others do not. <…> I am sure that today we will talk about this.”
For now, Brussels adheres to the position that each EU country must make its own decision on the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine, the head of European diplomacy recalled.
