There is 1 death due to torrential rains in Paris

One person was killed and two children were injured after a tree fell in Paris, where an "orange" danger level was declared due to heavy rains.

This was reported by the newspaper Le Parisien, referring to the law enforcement officers.

The incident took place in the 19th district of the French capital. "The tree fell on the passable part of the road when the man and two children were passing by. The man was seriously injured and died," the police said. According to the witnesses, there were two little girls with the victim whom he had picked up from school. The injured children were given emergency medical care. According to France24, the floods caused serious damage and led to power outages in the mountainous southeastern region of France.

Météo France, the national meteorological service, declared the highest "red" level of danger due to flooding in six French departments on October 17, but on October 18 the danger level was lowered to "orange".
