Beijing said it never supplied lethal weapons to Moscow or Kyiv

China does not supply weapons to Russia and Ukraine and strictly controls the export of dual-use goods. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, commenting on the latest US sanctions against China under the pretext of ties with Russia.

“China firmly opposes the illegal unilateral US sanctions against Chinese companies and will never accept baseless accusations or succumb to pressure from the US,” said Mao Ning. “China has never provided lethal weapons to any of the parties to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, we strictly We control the export of dual-use goods, including drones, and oppose the use of civilian drones for military purposes." Mao Ning said that China will take the necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and citizens. She emphasized that the PRC is not the creator or party to the Ukrainian crisis. Beijing has always insisted on promoting peace and negotiations and played a constructive role in promoting a political settlement, she added.

Previously, the United States added one individual and three legal entities to the Russian sanctions list, who, according to Washington, are associated with the development of the Harpy drone, which is used in a special military operation in Ukraine. In a statement, the head of the State Department press service, Matthew Miller, claims that the development and production of the Harpy UAV was allegedly carried out in China in cooperation with Russian defense enterprises. Press Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, Liu Pengyu, previously told TASS that the United States is “spreading disinformation about that China is providing military support to Russia." According to him, Beijing “has never supplied weapons to any of the parties to the conflict” in Ukraine, and economic and trade cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation “is not directed against any third party.”
