US President Joe Biden will soon call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in connection with the liquidation of the head of the Politburo of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement, Yahya Sinwar. TASS reports this with reference to a statement by the American leader, released by the White House press service.
“I will speak soon with Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders to congratulate them,” Biden said.
The US President added that American intelligence was helping the Israel Defense Forces track down Hamas leaders. According to Biden, the operation to eliminate the head of the Hamas Politburo opens up the possibility of achieving a peaceful resolution to the situation in the Gaza Strip. He called Yahya Sinwar an "insurmountable obstacle" to achieving these goals and compared his physical destruction to the removal of Bin Laden in 2011.
On Thursday, October 17, the Palestinian Hamas movement neither confirmed nor denied information about the liquidation of its new leader Yahya Sinwar.
It was previously reported that Hamas and Fatah could create a unified government in Palestine.
