In Istanbul, the members of the "3+3" regional platform (Russia, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia) will make a joint statement on the South Caucasus, emphasizing the need for peaceful settlement of conflicts. The source, the capital of Turkey, informed RIA Novosti about this.

"At the end of the meeting, the participating countries plan to adopt a joint statement. In the text, emphasis will be placed on the need to solve the problems between the states of the region through dialogue, based on the principles laid down in the UN Charter," the interlocutor of the agency said.

In addition, the source noted that the document will emphasize the importance of peaceful settlement of conflicts, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, inviolability of borders and non-interference in internal affairs.

According to him, in the text of the statement it is planned to focus on the necessity of regional economic cooperation, strengthening of trust and increasing the level of well-being.

In addition, the interlocutor added that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will announce during the meeting that Ankara's efforts are aimed at establishing peace and stability in the Caucasus.

"In his speech, he will emphasize that regional responsibility is the most effective method of solving problems," the source said.

According to him, Fidan will also emphasize Ankara's support for the process of concluding a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
