Lecturers against unilateral concessions "Hraparak"

A number of YSU professors support the movement led by Bagrat Srbazan and demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Davit Apoyan, the former president of YSU student council, also wrote about this on his Facebook page, who published the text of the statement and the list of the first 57 professors who signed it.

"IT IS ENOUGH TO PRESENT THE AGENDA OF UNILATERAL CONCESSIONS AS A "PEACE" AGENDA

A number of YSU lecturers, reacting to the territorial losses of RA in the illegal process of "demarcation" in Tavush region and the movement started under the leadership of the leader of Tavush Diocese due to this, issued a statement, which can be joined by teachers and academic researchers in all educational institutions of RA. To join, you need to put the "+" sign under this post and write your name and surname, if available, your academic degree and title.
It is also possible to join the initiative by simply announcing it directly, as many professors, teachers and researchers do not have accounts on social networks.

A SERIES OF YSU LECTURERS DEMAND RA PRIME MINISTER N. PASHINIAN'S RESIGNATION

The announcement is open to all persons working in the field of education and science.
During the last weeks, within the framework of the hasty process of "demarcation" in the territory of the Tavush region of the Republic of Armenia, the authorities of the Republic of Armenia make unilateral territorial concessions, which contradict the vital interests of the Republic of Armenia and cause serious risks for the security of the state. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia claims that the probability of the Azerbaijani side attacking the Republic of Armenia decreases, but he himself admits that with these concessions he cannot guarantee the exclusion of war and the establishment of peace. In this new phase of territorial concessions, the ruling power also mentions the provision of "sovereignty" as a justification, ignoring that sovereignty begins with maintaining control over the territory. Such a political attitude in Tavush after the loss of Artsakh once again confirms that the ruling political power in RA, showing readiness for new territorial concessions, is unable to guarantee the territorial integrity of RA and even to a minimum extent ensure a safe future for RA citizens. The foreign political course that implies territorial concession cannot be falsely called "pro-state" or "state-centered", as the propagandists of the government are now trying to claim, because the most important characteristic of the state is the territory.

At the level of the highest statesmen, point 1 of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia is unilaterally interpreted by linking the competence of the Republic of Armenia only to the borders of the territory of the Armenian SSR, presented in its own way. At one time, the surrender of Artsakh was also justified in this way. In the preamble of the declaration, among the various grounds for the declaration of independence, it is mentioned: "... based on the joint decision of the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR and the National Council of Nagorno-Karabakh on December 1, 1989 "On the reunification of the Armenian SSR and Nagorno-Karabakh", developing the democratic traditions of the independent Republic of Armenia, established on May 28, 1918, . .. declares: ...".

Later, the official position of RA was defined on 07.08.1992. H. adopted by the RA Supreme Council. In decision N-0663-1: "Based on the principles of international law, the right of nations to self-determination, as well as the results of the December 10, 1991 referendum on the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic... the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia decides: 1. Consistently support the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and the protection of the rights of its population. 2. To consider unacceptable for the Republic of Armenia any international or domestic document in which the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh will be mentioned as part of Azerbaijan."
