Former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia David Ananyan writes:
“Today we witnessed a clear manifestation of cynicism and immorality. Within the walls of the Parliament, which has long ceased to be a place for the art of political dialogue and the protection of citizens’ rights by its goals and role, a well-known and notorious official allowed himself to scold an Artsakh journalist with notes of poisonous sarcasm, accusing him of cowardice, in particular, of leaving his native land “without a fight.”
The subject making such accusations does not even realize the full depth of his and his political team’s guilt. Didn’t this political force betray Artsakh, justifying itself with idle demagogy? Weren’t these the same people who, with their short-sighted and treacherous foreign policy, allowed the blockade of Artsakh, leading the population to a humanitarian disaster, the scale of which the modern world has not yet fully comprehended.
And finally, weren’t these the ones who refused to actively resist Azerbaijan’s genocidal actions against the peaceful population of Artsakh in September 2023?
How can one afford to scold those people who, having been the bearers of a humanitarian disaster for almost a year, narrowly escaped genocide, somehow saving their lives and the lives of their families?
This subject does not even realize that the “fight” is not only a fight of arms, but also a struggle for existence, and the phrase “fight” is primarily directed at himself and his political camp. The cynicism displayed in parliament once again reminds us that the human face of political leaders has been replaced by a mask of unscrupulous arrogance, and their pitiful attempts to shift the blame onto others are nothing more than a manifestation of the last act of moral failure.
Through the prism of political science, such incidents testify to the degradation of political culture, in which responsibility is deliberately replaced by aggressive populism.
Instead of using crisis situations as lessons for overcoming them and preventing future ones, the authorities are busy searching for the enemy within, using suffering as a tool to discredit those who have a more moral right to speak about it.
This is no longer politics, this is a spectacle of political bankruptcy.
To summarize, it is worth noting that every cynical attack is a revelation in its own way.
Those who allow themselves such dirty and cynical words express a confession of their political impotence and barrenness.
