The United States may reduce aid to Jordan and Egypt if they abandon their demand to permanently accept most of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. According to "Armenpress", this was announced by US President Donald Trump in a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office of the White House.
Thus, Donald Trump is significantly increasing the pressure on key allies in the region to support his bold proposal to resettle the entire population of Gaza and rebuild the territory.
"If they do not agree, then I will probably not provide assistance," Trump repeated, expressing confidence that Jordan and other Arab countries will not refuse to accept Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. Notably, Jordan and Egypt, both major recipients of US military and economic aid, have rejected any offer to relocate Palestinians to their countries.
“I really think he (Jordan’s King Abdullah II) would accept (the Palestinians), and I think other countries would accept them as well.
They have good hearts,” the US president said.
