The Hraparak newspaper writes:
“Yesterday we received a call that the salaries of the militiamen have been significantly reduced, from the previous 200 thousand and more to 120-130 thousand drams.
Let us remind you that the militiamen are volunteers who sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense and guard the border, moving up to positions in shifts.
According to the citizen who called us, the problem is not so much the money as the state’s attitude towards them.
“The patrolmen with secondary education, who twirling sticks on the streets of Yerevan, in fact, receive a salary of more than 400 thousand drams, while those who guard the border receive three times less,” said the militiaman who contacted us.
We contacted the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, who said: "In general, the information about the reduction in the deduction does not correspond to reality, and if there is a specific militiaman who does not know why his salary is so high, please provide his data so that we can say why his salary was calculated that way."
