On January 6, the Feast of the Nativity and Epiphany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was celebrated with great solemnity in the Holy Etchmiadzin Mother See.
On the occasion of the holiday, in the spiritual center of all Armenians - Miatznaej Cathedral, H.E. Karekin the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians offered the Holy and Immortal Liturgy.
Members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, benefactors of the Mother See, leaders and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia, political-social figures and pilgrim Armenians were present at the Pontifical Holy Liturgy.
The paternal crucifix procession escorted the Catholicos of All Armenians from the Vehran to the Mother Cathedral amid the ringing of bells.
The patriarchal umbrella was carried by Narek Sargsyan, head of the Architectural Council of the Mother See, and members of the council: Hovhannes Sanamyan, Ashot Manasyan and Ruben Azatyan.
At the sacred ceremony, the Armenian Patriarch was served by His Grace Fr. Vazgen Archbishop Mirzakhanyan and His Grace Fr. Musegh Bishop Babayan.
During the Holy Liturgy, the Catholicos of All Armenians greeted Armenians around the world with the angelic message "Christ was born and appeared" and delivered his message on the occasion of the holiday.
