As a result of a shark attack in Egypt's Marsa Alam resort, one tourist died and another was injured, Reuters reports, citing the Egyptian Ministry of Environment. The deceased and the injured are Italian citizens. The consul general of the Russian Federation in Hurghada informed "RIA Novosti" about this.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the attack as concerns about shark activity in the area grow. Lifeguards have warned that swimmers in deeper waters are vulnerable to attack. A tourist from the Czech Republic was also the victim of a shark attack at the same resort in 2018.
