Russia should respond to the US sanctions law in the language of military deterrence, according to Dmitry Medvedev, the vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council and the chairman of the "United Russia" party.
On September 19, US President Donald Trump signed a law authorizing new sanctions against Russia. The document allows him to impose additional tariffs of up to 100% on countries that are among the five largest buyers of Russian oil and gas, as well as impose additional tariffs of up to 500% on Russian goods imported into the United States.
"Abroad, they hear only the language of direct military deterrence, which is the appropriate response to despicable Russophobic actions such as the 'Dead Terrorist Graham Act,'" Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
