Argentina's former ambassador to Venezuela is accused of treason

The Ministry of Security of Argentina accused Oscar Laborde, the country's former ambassador to Venezuela, of treason for interfering in the situation of the Argentine gendarmerie detained in the Bolivarian Republic. This was announced by the head of the department, Patricia Bulrich.

"We filed a complaint with the justice authorities against the former ambassador of Argentina to Venezuela, Oscar Laborde, accusing him of treason," he wrote in X.

According to La Nación newspaper, in the statement, Boulrich accused Laborde of "taking steps in the international sphere without any official authorization" and "collaborating with the Venezuelan government," acting "against the country's interests."

Laborde said on AM750 radio that he used his contacts in Venezuela only to give his mother's letter to the detained gendarme.
