Russia expects to hold tripartite negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict in the foreseeable future. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov.
"We hope that this will happen in the foreseeable future. Our position on this matter coincides with the position of Mr. Kushner," Peskov said in a comment to "Izvestiia".
According to him, the meetings with the participation of the representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the USA are necessary to find new options for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Wittkoff and Jared Kushner visited Moscow and Kiev on September 5 and 6. During the visits, the American representatives presented new ideas for the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Later, Kushner called the visits "very successful" and in an interview with "Европейская правда" he stated that after the negotiations, Washington got a clear idea of what could bring "long-lasting and stable peace".
After the visit of the American representatives, Moscow considered it possible to resume the negotiations in a tripartite format with the participation of Russia, Ukraine and the USA.
Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian president, stated earlier that Moscow considers the United Arab Emirates to be a priority platform for such negotiations.
