Kobakhidze criticized the EU's decision to abolish the visa-free regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, called the decision taken by the European Union foreign ministers on establishing a visa regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports anti-Georgian. "Interfax" agency reports that.

"This decision can be assessed as an anti-Georgian step that undermines the trust in European institutions in Georgian society," Kobakhidze said at a press conference held on December 17. He thanked the foreign ministers of Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and Romania. who "protected the interests of the Georgian people" during the session. "We hope that the practice of blackmailing Georgia by certain EU forces will stop," he said is Kobakhidze.

He believes that the purpose of this "blackmail", which, according to him, has been going on for three years, remains the desire of some forces in Europe to bring the radical opposition to power in Georgia.

"Today, when the decisive stage of blackmail has ended and the Maidan in Georgia has failed, I once again offer the protesters in Tbilisi to hold a discussion in any format," said Kobakhidze.

On December 16, the EU Foreign Relations Council adopted a decision on the introduction of a visa regime for Georgian citizens with diplomatic passports.
