Several people have been arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks in France

In recent days, French law enforcement agencies have arrested several people on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks during the Olympic Games. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced this on BFMTV TV channel. "The terrorist threat remains extremely serious. In the last few days, we have not made it public because we are in the middle of the election campaign, but we have arrested people who could have planned and carried out terrorist attacks," Darmanen said. The head of the Interior Ministry did not specify the exact number of suspects, saying only that that there were several arrests in two different places. The French judicial system deals with them, he added. The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11. The opening ceremony should take place in the river Seine. Amid the high risk of potential threats, it was decided to reduce the number of spectators from 600,000 to 326,000 at the opening ceremony, which will take place along the River Seine and the Place du Trocadero, and before the start of the Games, special QR codes will be introduced to move around the Olympic venues and near the dams of Paris.
