At the December 10 session, the Central Electoral Commission confirmed the validity of the number of signatures required by the legislation submitted by the civil initiative "On the start of the process of accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union".
It should be noted that the CEC used technical and software tools, verified the validity of the signatures, including comparing the data of the signed forms with the available information in the possession of the state and local self-government bodies. The process was followed by the representatives of the initiative. The number of valid signatures was 52351.
According to the RA constitutional law "On Referendum", at least 50 thousand valid signatures are required for the initiative group to have the opportunity to submit a draft law to the parliament.
