Scholz promised Ukraine IRIS-Ts, missiles and ammunition


Germany will provide Ukraine with anti-aircraft defense systems, missiles and ammunition for the protection of critical infrastructure.  This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, RBC-Ukraine reported, referring to the conference in Berlin. Scholz informed that Germany will send more anti-aircraft defenses, missiles and ammunition in order to strengthen the defense of Kiev. "The best kind of reconstruction is is that it will not happen at all," said Scholz. In his introductory speech, he stressed the importance of private capital in the recovery effort, saying that "it must also be economically justified." "Those who will participate in the early stage will be in the vanguard. I can say on behalf of the German industry that they will do it," Scholz said. He informed the delegates about this, in particular the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. In his speech, Scholz also confirmed that he supports Ukraine's possible membership in the European Union. "In a few months after the war, we jointly promised Ukraine. The future of Ukraine is in the EU," he said, noting that the promise is valid. The representative of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the Berlin conference, they will sign a number of declarations on intentions and agreements to support the recovery. The German government and the European Commission will sign an agreement. About increasing the funding of the "Complex Response Center of Ukraine" to 75 million euros. Within the framework of this initiative, equipment was paid for the purpose of demining Ukrainian cities and villages, as well as for the protection of nuclear power plants.
