Russia and Armenia are united by a centuries-old common history, in which there were glorious pages, including the common victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in a conversation with journalists"Sputnik Armenia".
"When I come to Yerevan, I look at Isakov and Baghramyan avenues with great pride... In other words, our common history is always in front of our eyes, in our hearts and in our memory," said Galuzin.
He expressed his confidence that all partners and allies of the CIS, CSTO, EAEU will enthusiastically celebrate the great jubilee in 2025, the 80th anniversary of the common victory in the Great Patriotic War. Galuzin noted that in addition to the common glorious history, there is alliance within the framework of EAEU and CSTO as well.
"Although Armenia stopped its participation mainly due to internal political reasons, as the Russian President said yesterday in Astana. We are a member of the CIS, and of course we hope that these relations will continue to develop in the future, for the benefit of our peoples, and not be banned," said Galuzin.
He also noted that the Russian-Armenian trade turnover will reach an unprecedented level of 15 billion dollars this year. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister clarified that bilateral cooperation is in the interests of both countries and peoples, and it should be used for the benefit of both peoples.
