The CSTO summit is starting in Astana


The Summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is starting in Astana. Its participants arrive at the Independence Palace, where they are greeted by the host of the current meeting, the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev.

The presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko, Sadir Japarov and Emomali Rahmon - will participate in the CSTO leaders' meeting.

The "frozen" participation in the work of the CSTO representatives of Armenia will not be in Astana, however, as the assistant of the Russian President Yuri Ushakov said earlier, Yerevan agreed to the signing of the documents, which are scheduled for 2018. meeting.

The Independence Palace in the center of Astana was opened in 2008, it was built on the initiative of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
