The volume of mandatory prenatal control examinations of pregnant women has been expanded within the framework of the state order

The volume of mandatory prenatal check-ups for pregnant women has been expanded within the framework of the state order, according to the Ministry of Health.

2024 from December 1, it will include:

oral glucose tolerance test,

determination of thyrotropin hormone,

Determination of group B streptococcus.

Deviations detected by these tests are often asymptomatic, and the doctor faces their consequences, so early detection of target groups will contribute to the development of an individual management plan for pregnancy and childbirth, successful pregnancy outcomes, safe delivery and the birth of healthy children.

In the past, these studies were not carried out under a government order or were carried out only when indicated.

Taking into account the guidelines of modern medical science and international professional associations, these studies were included in the scope of mandatory studies carried out within the framework of the state order for prenatal control of pregnant women.

Within the framework of the state order, during prenatal control, all pregnant women will undergo the specified examinations, regardless of the indications.

The change will also help reduce reproductive losses, including preventing miscarriages, intrauterine fetal deaths (stillbirths), and reducing infant mortality.
