"Fact" daily writes:
Azerbaijan, using the platform of COP29, once again sent false accusations against Armenia in the context that Armenia allegedly pollutes the Araks River and the Caspian Sea.
And the complaint is mainly related to the mining industry of our country.
Of course, this is not news, it's just that in that case the Azerbaijanis had a "convenient" opportunity and platform for their criminal purposes.
It is clear that the hostile country has a problem: to do everything to prevent the development of Armenia's mining industry, which will cause a serious blow to the backbone of Armenia's economy.
That's why Baku is fighting against the Zangezur copper-molybdenum factory.
After all, ZPMK is not only the locomotive of Armenia's mining industry, but also of the entire economy, and for years it was and is the country's number one taxpayer, providing a huge flow of funds to the state budget.
And Azerbaijan, it is understandable, wants Armenia not to develop economically. And it is no coincidence that under the guise of environmentalism, the Azerbaijani side is also making demands through different channels that they should have the right to monitor the mines and factories of Armenia.
Well, from the side, they are pushing forward the issue of the danger of the Metsamor nuclear power plant, with the demand to close it. Let's leave aside the fact that, unfortunately, some Armenian "environmentalists" also sometimes "clash" with the Azerbaijanis. that's another topic.
Let's also leave aside the fact that Azerbaijanis are spreading open lies. that is not news either, that country is only capable of fraud and crime. The problem has other equally important layers in this case.
First of all, Azerbaijan is the country that has no right to talk about environmental protection at all, because it pollutes the Caspian Sea the most, and that too with hydrocarbons.
Moreover, the Caspian Sea basin and the surrounding areas are polluted in two directions. The first direction is related to oil and gas extraction, and the second major environmental problem is caused by the intense activity of oil refineries, as a result of which water resources and the atmosphere are polluted.
If we take a deeper look at the situation, we will see that in reality Azerbaijan is not interested in environmental issues at all, but is simply trying to advance its political interests through the climate conference.
Moreover, many specialists characterize Azerbaijan as an oil state or "Petrostate", whose economy is based on the sale of hydrocarbons and contributing to air pollution.
And that country, on the one hand, is trying to position itself as a pioneer in the fight against atmospheric pollution, and on the other hand, Aliyev calls their hydrocarbon reserves a gift from God and blames some Western countries, which emphasize the fact that Azerbaijan is an oil state.
As for the COP 29 conference, in fact, the event held in Azerbaijan was so frivolous that the leaders and delegations of many countries even considered it a waste of time to go to Baku, and Argentina simply instructed its delegation to leave the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Baku. the conference.
Even countries that are really facing the threat of global warming and climate change were absent. For example, Papua New Guinea, considering the formal importance of COP 29, did not even consider it necessary to send a delegation.
As a result, the decision of that state came out right, because the conference held in Baku was an account of what happened and what was not, they gathered and discussed, but no decision was made about practical steps.
On the other hand, the fact that the representative of the Afghan Taliban arrived in Azerbaijan was remarkable. Of course, the Taliban are very concerned about environmental protection and climate change.
Perhaps the Taliban regime has a lot in common with the Aliyev regime, and they came to support him. But the most surprising thing is that during the conference, Aliyev referred to France, which simply boycotted the event.
Of course, he could not blame France for oil and gas production, as he did in the case of the USA. Therefore, the President of Azerbaijan referred to his favorite topic, that is, decolonization, and emphasized that a number of overseas territories are allegedly subjected to neo-colonial pressures by the French government.
We understand that it is stupid, but it is a fact. decolonization is spoken by the leader of a country that directly committed crimes against humanity against the people of Artsakh, without discriminating against means.
Another serious issue is that Azerbaijan is immersed head to toe in corruption scandals. From time to time, parts of the coils of these schemes are destroyed, and publications about the laundry appear in the headlines of the leading media.
Perhaps it was clear that the climate conference has nothing to do with environmental protection, Azerbaijan simply needed an audience to present its monologue. Only the "porter" was almost half empty.
