Sanctions against Russia will not stop the war in Ukraine. Borel

"The European Union understands that the sanctions against Russia are not a "prescription" to settle the Ukrainian conflict," said Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in an interview with Foreign Policy.

"We are not naive. we fully understand that sanctions are not a panacea and will not stop Vladimir Putin from continuing his special military operation in Ukraine. But the restrictions are aimed at reducing Russia's military-industrial potential and increasing costs for conducting a special operation," Borel said.

Earlier, Borel announced that the European Union is preparing the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
