On November 7, Deputy Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on State-Legal Affairs Arusyak Julhakyan met with International Criminal Court representative Danya Chaikel and International Criminal Court Coalition Advocacy Director Virginie Amato.

Arusyak Julhakyan presented the works carried out in Armenia after the ratification of the Statute of the International Criminal Court. He informed that by the decision of the Prime Minister of RA, a program and schedule of relevant activities and events were defined. The deputy chairman of the commission noted that the draft law "On RA cooperation with the International Criminal Court" has already been put into circulation.
The planned changes in the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, and Penal Enforcement Codes are discussed. During the meeting, issues aimed at developing the capabilities of investigators, prosecutors, judges, and civil society were discussed.
The importance and necessity of the training programs was emphasized. The representatives of the International Criminal Court spoke with the civil society about the training program and results conducted recently. A number of issues related to raising awareness about the International Criminal Court were addressed.
