Commenting on the migrant crisis in the Spanish Ceuta, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunes stated that the withdrawal of Spain from the Schengen Agreement is excluded. According to Le Parisien, he emphasized that "there can be no question of this" and that Paris and Madrid cooperate effectively.
On July 30, thousands of migrants invaded Ceuta by sea and land from Morocco. The city authorities reported 60,000 arrivals, and the Spanish Ministry of Internal Affairs reported 50,000 arrivals. At least 67 people died trying to reach the Spanish city.
According to EFE agency, in the last 30 hours, around 69,500 migrants were returned to Morocco. This number may also include those who arrived in the mass flow before July 30 or people who crossed the border more than once.
