The founder of Wildberries, Tatyana Kim, made a message on her official Telegram channel.
"For almost two weeks now, the warehouses of our company have been subjected to terrorist attacks. Why our warehouses? Wildberries is a popular marketplace, which is used by almost every resident of our country, as well as citizens of other countries. Therefore, the blows to us are simultaneous blows to hundreds of millions of people living in ten countries: our employees, vendors, manufacturers, logistics partners, owners of fulfillment points (POs), thousands of other entrepreneurs, fulfillers and buyers, among whom are also socially disadvantaged people.
Attacks on Wildberries infrastructure are attacks against civilians. And I will emphasize again, not only Russian citizens. Tens of thousands of people from Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan and China conduct business in our ecosystem. The entrepreneurs of these countries also suffered billions of losses.
On the Internet, I see discussions of "couch experts" regarding the protection of our facilities, anti-aircraft defense and other topics.
I repeat: our warehouses are equipped with all available means of protection. Since the first day of attacks, we strengthen and strengthen the defense system every day, also applying engineering solutions. For obvious reasons, I can't reveal details, but rest assured, we are updating protection systems every day. The fact that we manage to repulse most of the attacks is a direct proof of that. And this in the conditions when terrorists are increasing their firepower every day. For example, more than 200 aircraft-type drones were fired at the Yekaterinburg warehouse alone, where cars were burned in the parking lot.
Now I want to tell you about the fire safety of our facilities.
Since 2024, when our united company was established, we have, thank God, completely reconstructed the fire safety system of warehouses. During these two years, we have created our own fire fighting units, we have equipped all facilities with the most modern fire extinguishing systems, we produce the necessary components ourselves and regularly organize evacuation exercises for the staff. About two thousand people ensure the fire safety of all our warehouses every day. The service is headed by a colonel of the internal service, a former employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who has more than 26 years of experience in the field of firefighting.
This has allowed us and continues to allow us to ensure the safety of people in warehouses, to quickly localize fires and to preserve the integrity of our vendors' products to the extent possible. At the same time, it should be understood that the drones that hit industrial facilities, oil refineries or warehouses in the marketplaces carry explosives in order to harm as many people as possible.
Terrorist attacks against our warehouses are considered as circumstances of insurmountable force (force majeure). The presence or absence of this point in the offers has no significance, therefore, according to the law, these damages are not subject to compensation. Unfortunately, there are many scammers and lawyers on the Internet who try to profit from our common plight, taking advantage of the situation and people's ignorance to offer their services to solve the problems. That's why I appeal to all our sellers. Dear colleagues, trust only the official channels of communication, our company and the state. In the current situation, only we and the state can help you.
Let me tell you what steps we are taking now.
We have acted as a representative of the interests of small and medium businesses and have already discussed complex measures to support all affected entrepreneurs with the country's government. Now a unified system is being developed, within the framework of which every victim will receive help. The entire package of these events will be published in the coming days.
While that system is being developed, we have already implemented two rounds of support payments for sellers whose products were affected by the attacks. Almost 100,000 representatives of small and medium businesses were included in the second stage, many of whom have already received the corresponding payments.
For our major partners, we have added a regular customer discount to their products, provided credit holidays at our bank, and also invested in a number of other support measures.
Starting next week, we plan to organize existing meetings with the entrepreneurs of the most affected regions in order to address their urgent problems arising from the created situation.
I have already said that now we are rebuilding our logistics infrastructure at maximum speed, distributing the goods of our partners between different logistics facilities in order to maintain their delivery speed and turnover. For the safety of you and your products, I can't reveal the details, but rest assured, we're doing everything we can. We never let you down and always found a solution to any problem. I see no reason why the current situation should be an exception.
We have already received dozens of proposals for leasing logistics capacities in Russia and beyond, and part of the contracts have already been signed. In addition, we will soon put into operation the facilities that we have built in the countries of our operations.
By attacking us, the terrorists try to hide their real goals and accuse us of selling military goods. But you can open any global marketplace, Amazon or Alibaba, and see if we have any products that they don't have.
There is no logic, no common sense, and no rationality in the actions of terrorists. The adversary himself has publicly announced that the attacks against Wildberries are directed against ordinary citizens of Russia. Their only goal is to exert pressure, destabilize the situation and cause panic and shock among a large number of people.
The only thing we can do now is to approach the situation coldly, to have a restructuring plan for the near term with the Russian business community, to adapt and transform. We, the entrepreneurs, can do it like no one else.
We see that this situation has united everyone. entrepreneurs, buyers and the business community come together to solve the problem together. We will do everything possible to help small and medium businesses overcome this difficult situation. Because Wildberries are you.
