The attempt by the USA to conduct a search and rescue operation for the pilot of the F-35 fighter jet that was shot down in the territory of Iran has completely failed, Tasnim news agency reports, referring to its source.
According to him, Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 Hercules plane took part in the operation.
"One of the helicopters was attacked by the Iranian air defense near the border and left the operation zone," the source of the agency said.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces announced that an American F-35 fighter jet was shot down over the central regions of the Islamic Republic on Friday morning.
