On April 1, Ukraine and the United States will hold talks on the end of the war through a video conference.
As UNIAN reports, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this during the event dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Bucha.
"They asked me to join the meeting as well. I discussed this with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte last night. We agreed that he, myself, Witkoff, Kushner, Lindsey Graham and others would be there. We will discuss our current status. We will discuss how close we are to trilateral agreements or at least a trilateral meeting. Therefore, tomorrow we will have appropriate contacts," he said.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that the territories remain the main issue of the negotiations.
According to him, the compromise for Ukraine is to reach an agreement to stop the war on the contact line, while Russia continues to demand the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk region.
"They tell the Americans that now they have a new deadline: they will occupy the east of our country, the Donbas, within two months. Therefore, Ukraine has two months to leave. Then the war will end. If Ukraine doesn't leave, Russia will occupy Donbass and set new conditions. A logical question arises. if their only goal is Donbass, then why, after conquering it, they say they will continue to move forward? In other words, we are not talking about Donbass," the leader of Ukraine added.
