"Tasnim" news agency reported that two participants of anti-government protests linked to the terrorist group "Mojahedin-e Khalq" (banned in Iran) were executed in the Islamic Republic.
According to the agency, the defendants were found guilty of organizing terrorist attacks, including an armed attack with a grenade launcher in Tehran. After the investigation and trial, both were sentenced to death. The Supreme Court of Iran confirmed the verdict.
The accused were hanged on the morning of March 30.
The unrest in Iran began on December 29, 2025, following street protests sparked by the sharp devaluation of the rial, and spread to most major cities. On January 8, 2026, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, armed terrorists appeared among the protesters. Tehran blamed Israel and the United States for the unrest.
