AHaber TV reported on Sunday that two residential buildings collapsed in Istanbul's Fatih district and a rescue operation began.
"According to preliminary information, two residential buildings collapsed in the Ayvansaray district of Fatih as a result of a natural gas leak.
"Multiple rescue teams launched search and rescue operations, and three people trapped under the rubble were rescued and hospitalized," the governor's office said in a statement.
Local residents reported that before the collapse, an explosion was heard and a shock wave was felt. The incident took place in the district of Ivansaray, where there are many old buildings.
