Iran has fired two ballistic missiles at the British military base on Diego-Garcia Island in the Indian Ocean, which is used by the US Air Force, Al Jazeera reported, referring to Iranian media.
"Iran launched two ballistic missiles in the direction of the British Diego-Garcia base located in the Indian Ocean," the Qatari TV channel reported.
Earlier Mehr agency reported about this attack without providing details.
The distance from the Chagos archipelago, where the base is located, to Tehran is more than 5,000 kilometers. According to media reports cited by Al Jazeera, an attack on such a remote facility shows that Iran has missiles "with a range beyond what its adversaries imagine."
