Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakanen has stated that the Finnish leadership is open to the possibility that Moscow will protest against the planned lifting of the ban on the transit of nuclear weapons through the country. "We are fully ready for it," Yle quoted him as saying.
He claimed that the change in the law reduces the risk of Finland becoming a target of alleged military activity by Moscow.
A day ago, Hyakkanen announced that the government proposes to allow the importation and storage of nuclear weapons on the territory of Finland, if it is related to the defense of Finland. in other cases it will remain prohibited.
