US President Donald Trump wants all possible agreements on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine to be signed at the same time, possibly during a ceremony. Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with CNN.
According to him, Trump plans for Russia and Ukraine to sign a peace agreement at a large ceremony marking the end of the conflict, while Kiev, Washington and European countries will sign an agreement on security guarantees at the same event.
However, Zelensky is against this scenario. He believes that security guarantees must first be agreed and ratified by the US Congress.
"On paper, we have practically everything.
But the document on Ukraine's security guarantees has not been signed yet. It was not signed by the United States," Zelensky said. When asked why, he assumed that "the US wants to sign security guarantees at the same time as signing the 20-point settlement plan."
