In Washington, it is also assumed that one of the reasons for resuming the tests may be that China does not have enough practical data on the use of nuclear weapons. "They have a completely new generation of weapons for which they do not have a proper database," one of CNN's sources said.

The Pentagon has stated that it does not comment on intelligence assessments regarding alleged nuclear tests. And the representative of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, Liu Penyu, said that the USA "distorts and blackens China's nuclear policy".

According to him, this is "a political manipulation aimed at achieving nuclear supremacy and evading one's own nuclear demilitarization obligations." He also emphasized that China categorically rejects such statements and the claims of the US about conducting nuclear tests by China are "completely groundless".
