The special envoy of the US President, Steven Wittkoff, announced significant progress in the negotiations for the settlement of Ukraine. He made the announcement after the first day of trilateral discussions in Geneva at X.
He also praised the current US administration's "success in bringing the conflicting parties together, which has led to significant progress."
"Both sides have agreed to report the results to their respective leaders and continue working toward an agreement," Wittkoff said. As the source of the Russian negotiation team told TASS earlier, the participants of the tripartite negotiations on the issue of Ukraine in Geneva agreed to continue the contacts on Wednesday.
According to the source, the first six-hour day of negotiations was very tense.
